Ashraya Sindhu - A home for destitute rural children.
A PROJECT OF SEVA SINDHU
Ashraya Sindhu is a project of Seva Sindhu, an organization working for development of children and women in the rural areas. The Ashraya Sindhu project which is located at Bidadi is named after Mrs. Lalitha Subbarao, who has allowed us to use the premises for rehabilating the rural destitute children. This project is supported by Elsa Education Trust of Mrs. Lalitha Subbarao and 4S Foundation an NGO run by Mrs.Nalini Nanjundayya. Presently there are 6 male children who are in need of assistance.

Objectives of project “Ashraya Sindhu” :
- To establish programs for neglected, underprivileged rural children and also to establish home and rehabilitation units.
- To establish quality standards of childcare units, institutions, homes, orphanages for the vulnerable children, girls & women.
- To provide the rural children and women with life skills and life values to make themselves self reliant and to establish self confidence.
- To strengthen community oriented non-institutional services like financial adoption of a child/ children, foster care, day care, night shelter, crèche, sponsorship, family counseling and other related community centers.
Future Plans :
- To establish Ashraya Sindhu centres throughout Karnataka where there is requirement.
- In the coming years also planning to setup rural rehabilitation centres in each taluk and provide assistance and cordinate all the local bodies working for the betterment of children and women.
- Establishing Ashraya Sindhu as centre adopting villages and focusing on holistic development.
- To adopt rural single teacher schools and provide additional teachers for the welfare of the children.
Brief Summary Of Our Previous Activities :
Seva Sindhu a Charitable Trust originated by likeminded youngsters from the rural background but residing in cities. We are concerned about the rural life style as they lack basic education and amenities.
Many organizations work to uplift poor in cities. In the same way we wanted to bring awareness about right to education and health in rural part. So in order to facilitate rural public Seva Sindhu as a trust originated on 17th day of May 2010. It started its activities in the month of June 2010.
The activities conducted in the year 2010 are as follows.
- The inaugural programme of ‘school kit’ distribution was blessed by Sri Sri Baba Ramdev by distributing school kits to 50 students of government school at Hulikunte Village, Doddaballapur Taluk.

- We have provided the school kits for 500 children of government schools in the villages of Tavarakere, Sannenahalli, Shek Ali laya of Thippasandra Hobli, Magadi Taluk.
